Who we are

Batteries4Better ("B4B," "we," "us") is a student-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Virginia (EIN 41-5043292). These terms govern use of this website only, not our in-person drives, chapters, or volunteer activities.

Acceptance

By using this site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

Use of the site

This site is provided so you can learn about B4B, find a drop-off option, donate, apply to volunteer or start a chapter, and contact us. Please use it lawfully, and don't attempt to disrupt, abusively scrape, or otherwise interfere with how it runs.

Donations and external forms

Donations, and volunteer, chapter, and regional director applications, are collected through Google Forms, a service operated by Google LLC, not by us directly. Using those forms is subject to Google's Terms of Service, in addition to these terms. We're responsible for what we do with the information those forms deliver to us; we don't control how the Google Forms platform itself operates.

Donations

Donations are used to fund transport, certified recycling, collection bins, and signage, so that public drives stay free. Donations are non-refundable except where required by law. Batteries4Better is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 41-5043292); donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Intellectual property

The Batteries4Better name, logo, and site content belong to us, except partner logos (used with permission) and any linked third-party content. You're welcome to link to this site; please don't republish its content as your own.

No warranty

This site and its content are provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We work to keep information (like event dates and collection statistics) accurate, but we can't guarantee it is error-free at every moment.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Batteries4Better is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of this site.

Third-party links

Instagram, LinkedIn, Google Forms, press coverage, and partner websites linked from this site are outside our control and governed by their own terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the site evolves. The date at the top will reflect the most recent version.
